Children with Vision Tutorial Services is a program dedicated to the progression of underperforming youths in the Wake County District. For five years now the Children with Visions Tutorial Program has been bridging the educational gap between a middle class and lower class elementary, middle and high school education. Through a Partnership with honors student tutors at Saint Augustine’s College, Children with Visions Tutorial Program has been making steady progress to the betterment and advancement of struggling youths in the area. The benefits of a program such as this are numerous and plentiful, and with each year the power of education, tutoring and mentoring grows stronger and reaches more impoverished youths.

I came to Children with Vision failing Geometry class in the last quarter of 2007 school year. My grade was preventing me from being able to graduate. Children with Vision helped me pass geometry with a high C. I am now living out my dream attending Winston Salem State University.
(Note: Her mother wrote Children with Vision thanking us for the exceptional work we are doing in the community.)

I was struggling in Math when I arrived at the doors of Children With Vision Tutorial Services. This was very stressful for me and my mother because when it came down to my mother helping me with my homework nothing was being accomplished. My pre-standardized test scores remained low in Math and Reading. With the assistance of the tutors at the Children with Vision Tutorial Services my attitude and academic abilities began to improve. I became strong in reading and math skills achieving a 4 on the reading portion and a 3 in math at the end of the school year. I like math now. My confidence and self esteem have increased.
(Note: The achievement scores mentioned are on a scale of 1 to 4, with 4 being the best.)
